I'm happy to report that after the following email announcement today....my dear family is still speaking with me.
I’ve made a decision that was more difficult than I expected really. I’ve been at KPFF for 8 years (and Seattle 10) but an opportunity has come along that I have taken. It felt like what I should do. I signed the papers yesterday today accepting a roadway engineer position in Cambodia for a construction company involved in a large design/build roadway project. So maybe this is a bit out of the blue but a possible change has been on mind mind the last while at work. Things are very busy as you know....which isn't neccesarily too bad of a thing but I found I was getting a little burned out. Anyway...when this opportunity came along I investigated it......and the result is that I fly out June 1st. That will allow me to finish up the next large submittal at work in May....see one sister come home...the other one get married, take the last couple weeks of May off, etc. The project is expected to take 3 years to complete and I will be on-site the entire time. I plan to rent out my house while away. And no, in case you are wondering, I can't imagine staying there permanently! Okay...now that I got that off my chest, I probably better turn my phone off for awhile! :)
Talk to you soon.
Love,
Justin

unless of course this is all just a cruel april fools prank!!!
Okay I must come clean, the date on this post is very critical. I must say I didn't expect it to work quite as well as it did. While I'm not ruling out overseas work someday, you are stuck with me in Seattle for now :)
haha you totally had me. If it weren't for your comment I would have bitten :) Good to hear you're going to stick around though. Capitol Forest is starting to dry out and needs our company.....
The threatening to move posting seems to be a trend lately :) I guess since you're staying too, a Capitol Forest trip might work out! I hope that will fit in around my STP training that desperately needs to start soon!
Justin is quite positively gleeful that ALL his family (except Gretchen!) totally bought into the scheme. And yes, I did nearly kill him but I'm not sure you're suppose to post such words. So we sure made his week. As he said it was the "gift that kept on giving" cuz all the rest of you bought it too. That sure makes mom, dad, Janae, Kelly and cousin Tonya feel better!!
Ha--good thing I read the comments before commenting again!
Hi to all of your family--come see us if you're ever in boise...
heidi
ps your name is one letter off from my brother's name. just so you know :)
Oh, you so got me! It did sound exciting...if you change your mind and decide to go on an adventure after all, no one will believe you.
