PART 3 -NEW ZEALAND
The bulk of my 10 day quick tour of this land was spent traveling around the south island. A beautiful sparsely populated land in some ways similar to our Pacific Northwest.

New Zealands West Coast
Mt Cook -New Zealands tallest peak
I may not go up the space needle but I went up the Auckland equivalent!
If I'd have had a willing friend and some time....I would have booked a 2 hr sail on this America's Cup boat! I hope to return for this someday.
The infamous IHOP rocks.
Maybe next time.......kayaking Abel Tasman National Park
Lake Tekapo
Central Otago
There are HEAPS of sheep! A new word picked up, heaps and heaps of anything means pretty much what you'd expect it to mean. But heaps of people?? Yup, them too.
Christchurch
River surfing near Queenstown
I highly recommend it!
After seeing various camper/caravan combos...this was by far my favorite
Wellington, my final stop.
Though the scenery was great, the highlights again came thanks to the hospitality of new friends. This time especially the Mead, Penrose and Hunter families. It made my trip full of good feelings and now.......memories.

Next up and final post: Australia

Thanks for the posts, they're great! Makes me want to hop on a plane ... =) LOVE the blue water in the kayaking picture. And love seeing Gretchie. And and and!

My old house was right to the left of the cable car in the picture...right close to the little park there. I miss it!
