Boston and the 2009 Hartford Half Marathon
Keeping up the tradition of a run away from home, this years destination was a fall visit to Hartford Conneticut.
8,000 runners through downtown Hartford. A scenic and nice course.
Although I dissapointed myself a little bit with a 1:44:28, 7:59 pace. I was hoping to get faster than my last half marathon. Not to be. I fell off a little bit this summer and it proved that you will only do as good as you have trained.
Pain and suffering over.....we went on to enjoy a nice weekend in Boston and Cape Cod.
Climbing this monument the day before probably didn't help the aforementioned time either. This monument marks the Battle of Bunker Hill. An early costly battle in the revolutionary war, 1775, yet a moral victory for the colonists.
Samuel Adams helped rally the people from this building before they went and had a big tea party at the Harbor. The t-shirt vendor is a more recent addition.
We missed Angela though.....next time!
