A friendly basketball tournament was hosted in Vancouver, WA by Steve Paddon and crew. Players came from DC, the mid-west, Alberta, Vancouver Island, California and of course the northwest. There was 12 teams, I was on the Seattle "B" team with Dave Dye, Trevor Dykstra, Shuan Durkee and the Church brothers from Spokane and California. We went 1 and 2 on the weekend. Generally were outmuscled and hustled but had a good time anyway. The first picture is the Seattle girls team in white beating the OSU girls (plus Laura Lindsay, a last minute recruit). Next is Air Korwin and the Seattle A team beating the best California has to offer. Followed by Nick Reilly about to perform a nice reverse lay-in (use your imagination for the finish). Last but not least is me taking a shot. I won't tell you who our only victory was against. But they were really tall, tough, and we beat them anyway. Oh yeah, and I think the single guys on my team thought they were cute too.
Seattle "A" was runner up in the tourney again, lost by a point to an unassuming but impressive team from Wyoming with a couple Seattle area faces on it (Ron Egge and Brent Berg).
Thanks Steve for putting on a great tourney!
