Another weekend in Oroville did not dissapoint. Concerned friends Dave, Derrick and myself did our best to keep Mike from lamenting the baby shower he was not invited too.
Ode to the Swelling Similkameen
You started so peaceful this warm summer day
Benign, calm yet muddy, we kept you at bay

Shades of the day, brown, blue, green and red
What?? Are those cows or logs just ahead?

You got a bit fiesty so those paddles we dug
Up and down we went; is my helmsman a thug?

Duped and dunked, these boys won't gloat
They're happy to leave you with boats that still float.
The end.

Well I believe the non snow melt river flow is about 3,000 cfs (cubic feet per second), we floated it at 10,000cfs and today it is at 19,000cfs. Whew. Glad we went when we did. And thanks Mike/Derrick for taking the tippy canoe. I hope you're warm again.

Then off to Redneck sport at it's best

Smoked carp anyone?

The internet....bane of newspapers everywhere. But what does this subject have to do with anything? It doesn't.
Good luck Mike and Tawn with the upcoming change in life.
